Times of India: The tenth edition of the monsoon night adventure race between Katraj and Sinhagad will be held on July 27 and 28. The annual race has been organised by the National Education Foundation exclusively for college students. The race will be flagged off from the old Katraj tunnel at 7 pm on July 27 and conclude at the Tilak bungalow at Sinhagad on the morning of July 28.
The race covers about 16 km and the entire route includes 15 hills of the Sahyadri mountains. As per the rules of this trek, each team consisting of three members must have at least one female member.
The challenge for the teams will be to reach the finish point in extreme darkness with the help of a map with all members of the team. The team members could be from one or different colleges. So far, 50 teams from various colleges have registered their entry for the race. Participants from Mumbai, Nashik, Satara, Kolhapur, Baramati, Saswad, Pimpri Chinchwad, Alandi and Lonavla have also registered for the trek.
The race will be conducted in four categories including all girls (same college), all girls (different colleges), mixed (same college) and mixed (different college). The winning team will be awarded a cash prize of Rs 75,000, a certificate and a trophy.
