Manipura Chakra
Health & Wellness — By Rohan Apte on July 9, 2012 at 3:08 PMManipura Chakra is the third Chakra located directly behind the navel and is associated with the Fire element. Even though we see with our eyes, the ability to do so is given by this chakra. It is not only about being able to see but also to have a vision and the strength to express ourselves. This responsibility directly rests on the Manipura Chakra! Apart from giving us the vision, supporting the digestive system and the process of digestion comes under its power.
With the shape of a Triangle, Manipura Chakra has ten petals and the main objective of this chakra would be to:
- Grant us the eyesight.
- Give us the vision.
- Give us the strength to express ourselves through our eyes.
- Control the digestive system.
- Digest the food and disperse its nutritional value.
As mentioned above, it’s not only about having an eye sight, but more about having a vision; a vision to see people; look beyond what people want and the ability to express our feelings without words. The beauty of our eyes and the grace with which we express ourselves depends on the fire that we hold or the strength of Manipura Chakra.
To strengthen the Manipura Chakra, religiously perform Pranayam and Suryanamaskar.
But what really helps to keep the fire burning and make our presence glowing is “meditation”. Meditating on a regular basis is of extreme importance as it helps us understand ourselves and see our flaws and burn the negative energy in this fire. This gives us a sense of clarity in thoughts and helps us attain a peace of mind.
Unless we introspect ourselves first and understand the importance of our existence in this world, life would be pointless. Meditation, pranayam and absolute concentration are the keys to see through the minds eye. As we develop a vision through these practices, we experience ourselves and in the process, the Almighty as well.
