One and a half wife is about Amara Malhotra and her American Dream gone wrong. She is like the ideal girl as she has everything a girl could ask for and has everything a girl could want. She is intelligent, spirited and a person with a strong head. She leads a life worth being envious of until she marries a Harvard-educated millionaire, Prashant Roy. You would think it’s like a dream come true for Amara but fate has something else in mind for her.
Unfortunately, the fairytale marriage doesn’t turn out the way it is supposed to and Amara returns to her place of birth, Shimla and starts her life all over again. The book talks about the life that she had led and the one she is supposed to lead due to the circumstances that she is in.
