PGTI Players Championship
The Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI) will stage its PGTI Players’ Championship at the Poona Club Golf Course from April 17 to 20. A Pro-Am event will be held on April 21 after the end of the championship. The event carries a total prize purse of Rs 20 lakh with the winner taking home Rs 3.2 lakh.
Major names participating in the event include Mukesh Kumar, C Muniyappa, Manav Jaini, Vijay Kumar, Vinod Kumar, Sanjay Kumar, Shamim Khan, Abhijit Singh Chadha, Gaurav Pratap Singh and Raju Ali Mollah. The local challenge will be led by Gurki Shergill, Rajiv Datar, Jaideep Patwardhan, Aditya Bhandarkar, Pravin Pathare and Sachin Nigade. Announcing the event, Padamjit Sandhu, director, PGTI, said, “We are delighted to be back in Pune, which is one of the fastest-growing golfing centers in the country. Our partnership with the Poona Club Golf Course seeks to further popularise the sport in this city by staging professional tournaments such as the PGTI Players Championship.” Jaideep Patwardhan, chairman, Poona Club Ltd. (Golf), said, “The tournament brings high-quality professional golf to Pune and provides an incentive to youngsters to take up the sport. The golf course is in excellent condition and we look forward to an exciting week of golf.”

Indian Music Concert
The Art of Living (AOL) Foundation, set up by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, is organizing an Indian music concert at Gandhi Lawns in Kothrud on April 21 to promote a healthy lifestyle among the youth. The proceeds of the event will be used for youth programmes conducted by the AOL.
The event, titled Mantras n Beats, will feature fusion artist Vikram Hazra, along with several other artists like DJ Spin and Friends.
Addressing a news conference here on Wednesday, Hazra who is a programme director of Art of Living, said: “Mantras n Beats is a reflection of how the ancient and the modern coexist and form something that is visionary. Through this concert, we want to encourage the youth to adopt a healthy lifestyle and shun evils like tobacco, alcohol and drugs. We want our youth to excel both in information technology as well as inner transformation.”
“Our main aim through this concert is to show the youth that one can have as much fun even without using addictive substances. There are a host of NGOs which work for de-addiction but very few which help youth to protect themselves from addiction,” he said.
There will be entry fee for the concert.
