Around the city — By The Desk on April 12, 2012 at 12:15 PMTimes of India: The Art of Living (AOL) Foundation, set up by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, is organizing an Indian music concert at Gandhi Lawns in Kothrud on April 21 to promote a healthy lifestyle among the youth. The proceeds of the event will be used for youth programmes conducted by the AOL.
The event, titled Mantras n Beats, will feature fusion artist Vikram Hazra, along with several other artists like DJ Spin and Friends.
Addressing a news conference here on Wednesday, Hazra who is a programme director of Art of Living, said: “Mantras n Beats is a reflection of how the ancient and the modern coexist and form something that is visionary. Through this concert, we want to encourage the youth to adopt a healthy lifestyle and shun evils like tobacco, alcohol and drugs. We want our youth to excel both in information technology as well as inner transformation.”
“Our main aim through this concert is to show the youth that one can have as much fun even without using addictive substances. There are a host of NGOs which work for de-addiction but very few which help youth to protect themselves from addiction,” he said.
There will be entry fee for the concert to be held from 7 pm to 9.30 pm.
