Dr Manjiri Prabhu launches her latest book The Cavansite Conspiracy

Books are my best friends and have been so since I was 7 years old.
It was an interesting evening for the book lovers of the city, as they all gathered at Crossword on S.B Road for the launch of author Dr Manjiri Prabhu’s latest, The Cavansite Conspiracy. The book was unveiled by the author herself along with the guests of honour Siddhartha Jain CEO of iRock Media and Milind Mulick, a noted painter.
The author read out an extract from the book and soon we were engrossed into the story wanting to know what happens next. The extract was so beautifully written that one could imagine visuals while Dr Prabhu read. This was followed by another session of book reading where in Milind Mulick depicted the story through his painting. It was a wonderful sight to see an event from the book explained through the painting.
The book focus on the stealing of a stone called as the Cavansite. It is special stone used for healing. For all those wondering why Cavansite, well it’s found close to our very own Pune and therefore has been the inspiration behind the story. The story is about a girl called Koyal Karnik who comes to India to attend a friend’s wedding at a farmhouse in Mulshi. But fate has something else in store for her, as she gets trapped in her friend’s murder and the stealing of the Cavansite. Thus, she sets on a quest to find out the truth and she has just 48 hours to prove her innocence. Fate plays another tick on her as the only person who she can trust to help is her ex-boyfriend Neil. So Neil and Koyal set out to different location to unfold the mystery to her friend’s murder. It’s a romantic thriller which will keep you guess the next plot- a full on entertainer as described by the author. Dr Prabhu also added that she’s working on the sequel of the Cavansite Conspiracy and that would be released soon.
