Diabetes is a chronic disease that affects millions of people worldwide. In India, diabetes is fast becoming a commonly used term as more and more people are falling prey to it. Diabetes is a metabolic disorder where in there is excessive sugar in one’s body which leads to certain health complications. Doctors refer to it as the silent killer and it often goes undetected for a long time but the damage is done internally.

Types of Diabetes

Type 1 diabetes is caused due to an insulin deficiency in the body and the patient requires insulin injection.
Type 2 diabetes, also known as adult onset diabetes or non insulin dependent diabetes is caused due to insulin resistance.
