Mexican Food Festival

Hard Rock Cafe is all set to revive the magic of Mexican taste and sound this season. From delectable burritos and tostadas to flair bartenders, Latin dancers and live music performances, HRC promises to enthral its patrons with exotic cuisine and soulful Latin music. The festival will dish out mouth-watering delicacies like Legendry burger infused with a smokey baked bean mix, grilled Bahama Mama Chicken Tender Burrito served with spicy fries, Albequerque Cottage Cheese & Veg Burrito, Spicy American Corn & Danish Mozzarella Samoset and many more gastronomic delights. Painting Exhibition by Alaka Bhandiwad

Mumbai-based artist Alaka Bhandiwad will be showcasing her works at the Darpan Art Gallery. She gains inspiration from the ethereal colours of the rainbow, icy blue tones of the sea, fresh green tones of trees and the placid murkiness of lotus ponds. The lotus represents the Hindu principles of Satyam, Shivam, Sundaram which mean truth, auspiciousness and beauty, as it is worshipped as the cradle in which Lord Brahma and Vishnu were born.

Pune Festival 2011

Puneites are in for 11-day treat of music, dance, drama and other cultural bonanza as the ‘Pune Festival 2011’ kick-starts from September 2. The festival will be inaugurated by film producer and director Subhash Ghai at Shri Ganesh Kala Krida Rangmanch at 5 pm. Well-known educationist S B Mujumdar and imminent surgeon Dr K H Sancheti will be honoured at the Pune Festival Award, this year.

The inaugural function will have Maharashtra ministers Patangrao Kadam and Harshawardhan Patil as chief guests. Actors Jackie Shroff and Rati Agnihotri and MD, MTDC Avinash Dhakane will also be present.

The inaugural ceremony will start with the shehnai by Tukaram Daithankar and his team followed by Ganesh aarti. Actress Sonali Kulkarni, Neha Pendase, Urmila Kanitakar, Mansi Naik, Shruti Marathe and 40 new artists from ‘Indradhanu’ will perform in the inaugural show.

The 23rd edition of the festival will start with the Shree Ganesh Sthapana on Thursday at 10 am by Rati Agnihotri. There will be a concert by Jagjit Singh, classical vocal by Pt Sanjeev Abhyankar and Ashwini Bhide Deshpande, All India Urdru Mushaira and Hindi Hasya Kavi Sammelan.

The festival is organised by The People of Pune, Pune Festival Committee, Dept of Tourism Govt. of India and Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation.

Marathi Kavi Sammelan, Mahila Mahotsav, Ugavate Tare, Indradhanu, Golf tournament, Roll Ball Tournament, Vasantotsav, Kolhapur Festival are other attractions.
