Jai Jai Maharashtra Maza
Around the city — By Kadambari on July 11, 2011 at 10:13 AMAt a recently held press conference, the cast and crew of upcoming Marathi film ‘Jai Jai Maharashtra Maza’ shared some light moments about the movie. Held at Pune Marriott and Convention Centre, who is also the hospitality and location partner for the movie, we got to interact with director Gautam Joglekar, Mrunal Kulkarni and Anusha Dandekar.
Based on the soul of the Marathi culture, the film showcases a 22 year old American girl of Indian origin, who returns to her home town, Maharashtra and reconnects with her roots and falls in love with the land and its culture. The movie has been massively shot in Pune, Mumbai and Kolhapur and shows some beautiful locations of these cities.
Anusha Dandekar who debuts with this movie in Marathi industry is all excited and says, “It was a pleasure to get this role. Being from Pune and brought up in Australia, I am pretty close to the character Ashwini that I play in this movie.” She further says, “I am dedicating this movie to my Aaji who never understood what I really did on MTV.
Speaking to the press, Gautam Joglekar said, “I believe in positivity. I believe that India has a lot of beauty, tradition and culture and the same needs to be showcased to the world. A lot of tourists, who come to India, come with a pre-set mindset and the same changes when they get to experience India closely. My movie will be a window to a heritage that Maharashtra has always prided itself with.”
Mrunal Kulkarni who plays the role of a doting mother to Anusha will be seen in a challenging and a unique role. “It feels great to be associated with an award winning director and to portray demanding role,” said Mrunal Kulkarni.

The movie is still in the midst of shoots and is due to release on 16th October. Jai Jai Maharashtra Maza also stars, Mahesh Manjrekar, Siddharth Chandorkar and Hemant Dhome among others.
