Times of India: Arunoday Singh, actor in the upcoming Yeh Saali Zindagi and grandson of senior Congress leader Arjun Singh, will never step on Symbiosis campus again. He has been banned by the institute for kissing a girl student on stage. Arunoday, who was at the Symbiosis Institute of Mass Communication to promote his film, announced from stage that he would kiss the first girl to walk on to stage. A third-year girl came on the college auditorium stage and the actor kissed her. The actor claims the girl did not mind, but college authorities say the girl was embarrassed by the incident.
Anupam Siddhartha, director of the institute, said he could not believe that an esteemed director like Sudhir Mishra could stoop to such a level by allowing such antics. “I can understand that a movie on a shoe-string budget needs all the publicity it can get, but this is ridiculous. One cannot transcend decency just for a publicity gimmick. I feel that people take advantage of the idea of ‘Atithi Devo Bhavah’ and go ahead with such things. In fact, they, as celebrities of public standing, should know this better than most.”
