When did it start?
Bhavnagri was started in 1901 by Mithundas Vithaldas Cursondas Parekh. Considered to be synonymous with taste, quality and hygiene, the shop has been satisfying Punekars with its delicious array of sweets served for more than 100 years. Even today, their sweets, namkeen (salty snacks) and dry fruits have a loyal clientele in the city and across the world.
What they offer?
Bhavnagri is popular for its traditionally prepared, pure ghee sweets. They have hot piping and lipsmacking gulab jamuns, kala jamuns and gilibis to gorge upon. Even their motichur ladoo, balushai and mesur pak are popular.
In halwas, they offer Mahim halwa, Bombay halwa and Karachi halwa which are just as good to savour your taste buds. Malai burfee, kalakand and elaichi peda are some of their rich and delectable sweets offered at the mart.

A majority of Parsi community rely on this mart for their traditional sweets. To cater to them, Bhavnagri has bundi nu pancake, Parsi gelibi, mawa na samosa and mawa ni boi which are prepared as authentically as possible and needless to say, delicious.
