Sakaal Times: Now, checking call details and availing customer care help would be just a mouse click away for all Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) customers.
The next generation state-of-the-art Call Detail Record (CDR) project of state-owned telecom company, which will enable its subscribers to access details of their calls, billing amount and customer care services online, is likely to be rolled in near future.
Briefing about the CDR project, G K Lodha, deputy general manager (Planning and IT) of BSNL Pune circle, said, “Four zones, each having one prime data centre, have been established by BSNL for implementation of the CDR project.
“The data centre for west zone has been installed in Pune at Chinchwad, where data from Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh will be processed.
“The work of installation of server, storage devices and back up systems at Chinchwad data centre is on the verge of completion,” he told Sakal Times.
The new CDR project, which has a financial outlay of around Rs 500 crore, will help the company to enhance its customer service, improve data accuracy and increase the system reliability.
“One will just have to log on to the new website, which is to be launched by the BSNL soon, under CDR project for accessing calling details, billing amounts and customer care help.
“Subscribers will be provided with a unique customer identification number, using which they can have access to needed information,” the communications network official said.
“Mobile and Landline customers, along with Broadband users would benefit immensely due to this project,” Lodha added.
The CDR project is also believed to provide effective and efficient billing and customer care solutions to BSNL and would also help in building countrywide intranet and reducing the cost of overall operations
“The CDR project will be run on a test basis at each place in four states of the west zone. It will be tested in Maharashtra state at Kalyan by the end of next month.
“After the satisfactory results, the new state-of-the-art project will be rolled out in entire west zone likely by end of this year,” Lodha told.
“One will just have to log on to the new website, which is to be launched by the BSNL soon, under CDR project for accessing calling details, billing amounts and customer care help.
