Sakaal Times: The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), a professional society for the engineering and technology community, headquartered in London will organise their Present Around the World (PATW) competition, a national level paper presentation contest for students on April 4 at the Cummins College of Engineering for Women in Pune. The next addition of the PATW will also be held in Pune in 2010.
Speaking to Sakaal Times, Mousami Munot, Young Member Section, chair, Mumbai network of IET said, “Students can present papers related to technology in this competition and there are four stages of this competition, local, national, Asia Pacific and the final round in UK. There are a lot of students who are good in engineering but what matters is the ability to put forth your understanding to the common man. So, the stress in this competition is on the communication and presentation skills.”
An individual will form one team. The finals of the competition will be held at London in UK and winner of the competition will be rewarded 400 pounds.
All other expenses will be borne by IET. Under-graduates, post-graduates and PhD students are eligible to participate in the competition.
The Asia Pacific round will be held some time in May or June in Shanghai, China.
A national conference on signal processing and image processing applications will also be held in Pune on September 19 and 20, 2009 by IET, Mumbai in Pune.
