Times Of India: A new Government College of Engineering (GCoE) where 70 per cent of the total sanctioned intake would be reserved exclusively for students from the University of Pune (UoP) area, is all set to come up at village Avasari Khurd in Ambegaon taluka near the city from 2009-10.

The Rs 41.62-crore GCoE project has been planned strategically to cater to the hugely anticipated requirement of technical skillset by the industry, especially the automobile plants that are coming up in the Talegaon-Chakan belt besides the special economic zones (SEZ) at Khed and Shirur, located north of Pune.
